Wave I Portal Closing Date

The Opioid Wave I Portal closes and becomes inaccessible on January 31, 2019. Please make sure to complete all activities prior to the closing date.

Opioid Initiative Goal

Our aims for this initiative include helping EDs to:

  • Implement alternatives to opioids (ALTO)
  • Improve opioid prescribing
  • Adopt harm reduction strategies such as naloxone prescribing and medication-assisted therapies (MAT)

The guidelines, measures, education and quality improvement activities and related data specifications developed by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Emergency Quality Network are intended to facilitate quality improvement activities by physicians. The materials are intended to provide information and assist physicians in enhancing quality of care.
