Peter DeBlieux

Dr. Peter DeBlieux, completed medical school at Louisiana State Health Science Center, completed internship in Internal Medicine LSUHSC Department of Medicine, residency and Chief residency in Emergency Medicine LSUHSC Charity Hospital, completed Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship LSUHSC Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at LSUHSC Charity Hospital. Former Program Director of the LSUHSC Charity Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency for ten years, former Director of Resident and Faculty Development for ten years, former Emergency Department Director of the Interim LSU Hospital post Katrina. Appointments with both LSUHSC as Clinical Professor of Medicine and Tulane University Medical School as Clinical Professor of Surgery. Dr. DeBlieux has been and is currently teaching faculty in Emergency Medicine and the Medical Intensive Care Unit of LSUHSC Charity Hospital and University Medical Center New Orleans for over 35 years. Former Hospital leadership roles as the Director of Quality and Patient Safety, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Experience Officer at University Medical Center New Orleans. Currently he is the LSUHSC New Orleans School of Medicine Assistant Dean of Advanced Learning and Simulation, developing a Standardized Patient Project that focuses on challenging communications and broadening industry partnerships in medical education that strengthen the LSU Health New Orleans mission. Recent AMA Precision Medical Education grant recipient to investigate learning complex communication skills through advances in AI.
