EMS Week Welcome from ACEP President

David Seaberg, 2011-12On behalf of the American College of Emergency Physicians, I am pleased to present the 2012 EMS Week Planning Guide. It’s full of ideas and resources to help you make the most of National EMS Week activities in your community. The Guide also contains examples on how you can be proactive with community activities all year long. Whether it’s collaborating with the media, addressing public officials or initiating an educational campaign with the public, the Guide provides ideas and tools to assist you.

For the 10th consecutive year, we are devoting one day during EMS Week to focus on the needs of children. It is National EMS for Children (EMS-C) Day. On Wednesday, May 23, 2012 consider directing your activities and events specifically on child safety and injury prevention.

Thank you again for the outstanding service you provide your communities. I am confident you will make this years’ EMS Week celebration a huge success.

David Seaberg, MD, FACEP
