Join the cast and crew for another stunning performance in ACEP Scientific Assembly’s innovatED this year!

Innovative technology and disaster medicine principles will be exhibited in a live performance enhanced by engaging video effects. Be a part of the simulated response to a large scale earthquake in Las Vegas with city-wide ramifications taking place in the innovatED emergency department of the future!

ACTING OPPORTUNITIES

Emergency Physician: This is the lead role. You will be the emergency physician leading your team during the disaster response. Ideal actor will be highly communicative, a dynamic leader, and skilled in technical procedures using the innovative products.

Triage Physician: This character will man a triage stand located within the audience. You will triage ACEP attendees during the performance. Ideal actor will understand mass casualty triage methods and be highly communicative and entertaining.

Nurse 1: You will assist the emergency physician in a nursing role by gathering equipment, monitoring patients and executing orders. Ideal actor will be comfortable with innovative technology and a team player.

Nurse 2: You will assist the emergency physician in a nursing role by gathering equipment, monitoring patients and executing orders. Ideal actor will be comfortable with innovative technology and a team player.

Nurse 3: You will assist the emergency physician in a nursing role by gathering equipment, monitoring patients and executing orders. Ideal actor will be comfortable with innovative technology and a team player.

Trauma Surgeon: You will assist the team by making decisions to take patients to the OR and assist in transport out of the InnovatED space. Ideal actor will look like a trauma surgeon.

Event Medicine Physician: You will represent the event medicine section and perform life-saving care at an event for Patient #1 then follow the patient into the InnovatED. Ideal actor will be a member of the event medicine section. For this role, you must also be available on October 13th in Las Vegas to film the engagement videos.

Sports Medicine Physician: You will represent the sports medicine section and perform life-saving care at a sporting event then follow the patient into the InnovatED. Ideal actor will be a member of the sports medicine section. For this role, you must also be available on October 13th in Las Vegas to film the engagement videos.

Patient #1: This character will wear a Cutsuit (http://www.strategic-operations.com/product/tcccems-cut-suit/). You will be moulaged with multiple injuries including a penetrating injury to the chest with pneumothorax and an expanding neck hematoma with an airway obstruction. The event medicine physician will manage your injuries. Ideal actor will be comfortable wearing a Cutsuit. For this role, you must also be available on October 13th in Las Vegas to film the engagement videos.

Patient #7: This character will wear a Cutsuit (http://www.strategic-operations.com/product/surgical-cut-suit/). You will be moulaged with multiple injuries including an abdominal evisceration, a leg hemorrhage and a hemothorax. Ideal actor will be comfortable wearing a Cutsuit.

Patient #3: This character will be moulaged with multiple injuries including an open book pelvis, bleeding extremity and intracranial hemorrhage. You will wear a sports uniform. The sports medicine physician will manage your injuries. Ideal actor will be comfortable wearing a sports uniform and be physically fit. For this role, you must also be available on October 13th in Las Vegas to film the engagement videos.

Patient #5: This character will be moulaged with a leg laceration caused by a slot machine landing on it. You will be entertaining and positioned close to the audience, to break the 4th wall. Ideal actor will be humorous and charismatic.

Paramedic 1: You will transport patients into and out of InnovatED. You will give notifications, report on new patients and perform interventions. Ideal actor will be able to transport people and manikins on stretchers and stretcher chairs.

CREW BEHIND THE SCENES OPPORTUNITIES

Moulage Artist: Enhance the look of the performance with makeup and visual effects.

Setup Technician: Ensure that all innovative and supporting equipment, manikins, and props are set up properly before and after the performances for a seamless experience.

Multimedia Technician: Work with the assistant director to build the video enhancement slide deck and deliver this synchronized to the performances on the large screen video monitors in InnovatED.
