Reaffirmed by the ACEP Board of Directors October 2012, October 2006

Revised and approved by the ACEP Board of Directors July 2000 by Combining Council Resolution CR012 approved September 1992 and Council Resolution CR038 approved September 1985

The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) strongly opposes advertisements of alcoholic beverages, particularly those that are aimed at young audiences who may be especially susceptible to the advertising, those that are aired during sporting events, and those which draw a positive correlation between physical performance and the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
