ACEP ID:
ACEP recognizes significant contributions by ACEP members to communicate key messages and to serve as spokespersons for the organization and the specialty of emergency medicine. Recipients are honored for going “above and beyond” to promote ACEP’s policy messages or consumer information and expert advice to the public — via print, television, radio, web, or social media outlets.
The recipient will receive a crystal award and be honored during the Communications Committee meeting. The recipient will also be recognized on ACEP’s website.
The Spokesperson of the Year Award is open to all ACEP members, except for current members of ACEP’s Board of Directors. Candidates for the award must be members in good standing and be recognized for efforts that occurred during the current committee term.
Candidates will be evaluated in the following areas:

ACEP’s Communications staff will recommend one candidate for the Spokesperson of the Year Award to ACEP’s Board of Directors who will then make the final decision. ACEP Communications Committee members are removed from the selection process because of potential conflicts of interest. Members of the Communications Committee can be considered for the award. The decision of the Board is final, and the Board reserves the right to make no award if there are no nominees of sufficient merit.
