Critical Care Medicine
From the Chair:
Welcome to the Critical Care Section website! We are excited about all things emergency medicine/critical care, and hope to share that enthusiasm with you as you navigate our site. The world of Critical Care in Emergency Medicine has a deep history and exciting new developments. While emergency physicians have always been taking care of critically ill patients, we now have the opportunity to earn board certification through fellowship training in many Critical Care subspecialties.
We hope that this website sparks your interest in Critical Care, gives you the resources needed to find out more about it, and encourages you to contribute to the specialty and the section.
We know that not everyone will work in an ICU, but critical care is an area that serves us all well in the emergency department on a daily basis, and going forward the number of critically ill patients in most emergency departments is anticipated to increase.
So whether you are considering a fellowship, already practicing or just taking a peek at what we are up to, welcome to our site.
We are always looking for input and feedback, so let us know what you think or what you would like to see by contacting our web editor John Litell.
Feel free to email myself or any of the Section officers with any additional questions or feedback.
