Award for Outstanding Contribution in Research
 

Purpose

The Award for Outstanding Contribution in Research is presented to an ACEP member who has made a significant contribution to research in emergency medicine.

Donald M. Yealy, MD, FACEP
The Research Award features the recipient's name and ACEP logo on a sterling agate and gray marble diamante award. The recipient's name is inscribed on a master plaque at ACEP Headquarters.

Criteria

Any member of the College may nominate himself/herself or another member for this award. The nominee must be a member of the College.

The nominee should have made an outstanding contribution to research in emergency medicine as demonstrated in accomplishments. Examples might include: outstanding research, research innovation, published original research, or a major and lasting research contribution.

Entry Procedures

Any member may nominate a member by completing the nomination form in the Leadership & Excellence Awards Program Brochure. Submit the online nomination form, nominee's curriculum vitae, and any supporting materials to Rochelle Ross, at the ACEP Headquarters. All entries must be postmarked no later than February 16, 2009 for consideration by the Awards Committee.

Judging

The Awards Committee will judge the entries, with its recommendations subject to review by the ACEP Board of Directors. The decision of the Board is final, and the Board reserves the right to make no award if there are no nominees of sufficient merit. The award will be presented at the Research Forum luncheon, held in conjunction with the Scientific Assembly. The recipient will also be recognized at the annual Fellow Convocation and Awards Ceremony.
