Section Awards
Applications will be accepted starting May 1, 2013. Nominations are due July 31, 2013
In order to recognize the outstanding work of ACEP’s Sections of Membership, the Sections Task Force requests nominations for the 2013 Section Awards. Sections are welcome to submit nominations for all the awards for which they qualify and may receive the same award multiple times.
The award categories are:
Outstanding Section Web Page
Criteria:
- Number of unique visitors to the sections’ Web pages from October 31, 2012 to July 31, 2013, as provided by the ACEP Technology Services Director.
- Benefit provided to members of the section.
- Assistance to the College in meeting strategic objectives.
Nominating Process: complete the Outstanding Section Web Page Award nomination form.
Due Date: July 31, 2013.
*Service to Section
Criteria: (exceptionally in 2013, based on the previous and current section year’s activities; post-Scientific Assembly 2011 – July 31, 2013)
- Participation in the Section Grant Process
- Educational offerings at Scientific Assembly or other similar venues
- Unique avenues to provide membership benefits
Nominating Process: complete the Service to Section Award nomination form.
Due Date: July 31, 2013.
*Service to College
Criteria: (exceptionally in 2013, based on the previous and current section year’s activities; post-Scientific Assembly 2011 – July 31, 2013)
- Assistance to related College committee(s) to meet objectives
- Development of a policy statement, PREP or white paper
- Product development
- Assistance to the College in meeting strategic objective
Nominating Process: complete the Service to College Award nomination form.
Due Date: July 31, 2013.
*New in 2012-2013: To generate more enthusiasm and increase award nominations, the Sections Task Force agreed to change the time frame criteria for the Service to Section and Service to College awards from previous year’s activities to current section year’s activities. 2013 will be a transition year with the time frame for nominations span 2 cycles: post-Scientific Assembly 2011 through July 31, 2013. Starting in 2014, only the current section year’s activities will be considered; post-Scientific Assembly 2013 through July 31, 2014, etc.
Awards will be presented in the following two categories based on ACEP section data. No nominations are necessary.
Promoting Section Membership
This award is based on the highest percentage of free resident members enrolled in the section and overall increase in membership. Sections receiving "automatic" members will not be eligible for this award.
Outstanding Newsletter
This award is based on the number of newsletters published, the quality of the content, and the number of stories in each newsletter.
