A 5-year-old female accidentally sat down on a clear plastic cup in the bathtub, which caused this laceration to her labia. Despite the wound being limited in size and depth, she presented with persistent bleeding. We did not want to suture this labial injury because of the location and tried Dermabond unsuccessfully several times. Even after temporarily stopping the bleeding with a commercial hemostatic agent, the bleeding would resume in sufficient amounts to stymie our attempts at using Dermabond. Eventually, after application of topical lidocaine-epinephrine-Tetracaine (LET), the wound stopped bleeding and after one more unsuccessful attempt with Dermabond (due to oozing of blood), we consulted OB/GYN who recommended that we do nothing as the bleeding had finally stopped. The urethra was examined and urination occurred with only local discomfort.
