Emergency physicians treat critically ill patients in various critical care areas of a hospital, the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) strongly supports the continuing efforts of the American Board of Emergency Medicine to seek a pathway(s) to subspecialty certification in Critical Care for those board certified in emergency medicine who meet the appropriate requirements.
