Dr. John J. Kelly was named this year's recipient of the Albert Einstein Society's Physician Leadership Award. This prestigious award is the highest honor a physician in the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network can receive. The Albert Einstein Society was founded in 1972 to support original research projects that allow for the exploration of new ideas in the laboratory, hospital, and community.

Dr. David C. Seaberg, a member of ACEP's Board of Directors, was named dean for the College of Medicine, Chattanooga, one of three College of Medicine campuses that are part of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. According to a press release from the UT Health Science Center, Dr. Seaberg was offered the position because he "possessed the strongest combination of skills and practical experience to meet the needs of the Chattanooga campus community."

Dr. Christine Sullivan received the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) 2007 Alumni Achievement Award for the School of Medicine. Dr. Sullivan, who earned her B.A. in 1982 and her M.D. in 1985, is an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Dr. Sullivan also serves on Kansas City's Emergency Physicians Advisory Board and helped establish Overland Park Regional Medical Center as a level II trauma center. She also has served as president of the School of Medicine's alumni board and on many other UMKC committees.

Three ACEP members received 2007 National Heroes Awards from the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) National Resource Center. The awards program recognizes outstanding achievement in emergency medical services for children and those who made a difference within the pediatric health care community at the local, state, and national level.

Dr. Marianne Gausche-Hill: recipient of the EMSC Lifetime Achievement Award. She is a professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and is director of EMS, the EMS Fellowship Program, and the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program for the department of emergency medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Susan Fuchs: recipient of the EMSC Advisory Board Member Award. She has worked at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh and Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, served as chair of the PALS Advisory Group for the Pennsylvania American Heart Association, and is current chair of the Illinois EMSC Advisory Board.

Dr. Howard Corneli: recipient of the Outstanding EMSC Research Project Award for his study, "Oral Dexamethasone for Bronchiolitis: A Multi-Center, Randomized Controlled Trial." He is an emergency physician at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
