"Emergency departments continue to close, emergency visits continue to rise, and medical emergencies are a fact of life that will not go away. Emergency physicians have a key role to play in health care reform, as we touch all parts of society and all parts of the health care system. Policymakers can look to us for solutions to individual and systemic problems."

Dr. Seaberg previously served as residency director and chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida, where he was on faculty for 13 years. He served as president of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Emergency Medicine Learning and Resource Center.

Dr. Seaberg attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and completed his emergency medicine residency training at the University of Pittsburgh. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.
