Bio: Dr. Sama, of Manhasset, N.Y., is vice president of emergency services for the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. He is chairman of the department of emergency medicine at North Shore University Hospital and chief of the emergency medicine department at Huntington Hospital. Dr. Sama is the recipient of the endowed Dorothy & Jack Kupferberg Professorship of Emergency Medicine at New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Sama has been an ACEP member for more than 20 years and has chaired the bylaws committee. He is currently a member of the finance and reimbursement committees. On the state level, where he received the New York ACEP Chapter's Physician of the Year Award, Dr. Sama served as president, secretary/treasurer and councilor.
Dr. Sama, a graduate of Columbia University, earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College.
