ACEP celebrated 50 years of emergency care by recognizing the first emergency department in the country to have dedicated, full-time emergency physicians, setting the standard for increasing access to emergency services around-the-clock. ACEP leaders joined physicians and medical staff key in implementing the "Alexandria Plan" for a ceremony June 24, 2011 at the Inova Alexandria Hospital in Virginia.
